Meet your holistic Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Johanna.
Functional Blood Chemistry Specialist, certified by the Fundamenta Wellness Institute
I’ve walked in those well-worn shoes of yours. Feeling exhausted and hopeless… Constantly wondering “Why me? Will I ever get better?”
In 2020, when the world came crashing down, my own health went with it. This was the point that I wasn’t getting any relief or making any progress with my doctors, so I needed to take matters into my own hands.
What I wanted was to have vibrant, consistent energy, periods that didn’t wreck my life, and a gut that wouldn’t make me question whether I could ever eat out again.
But I had NO idea how to get this. Until I found nutritional therapy and learned how to truly support our body, and give it what it needs to balance out.
I learned that our body WANTS to heal. In fact it wanted to heal so badly that it was literally screaming at me (via symptoms) trying to tell me how to fix what was going on.
So I listened… I started eating to replenish deficiencies, adding in more rest into my routine, and learned how to actually support my digestion, so it could actually heal.
And I was so blown away from my results that I knew I HAD to help guide other women through the same transformation that I had.
Maybe my story sounds a lot like yours! If it does, I’m here to help!
I’ve been in your shoes, feeling overwhelmed by symptoms, desperately searching for relief, and hopelessly looking for a provider who makes me feel heard. I get it. My mission is to make you my number 1 priority, guiding you every step of the way toward the relief you deserve.
Together, we’ll support your body and hormones and bring balance back into your life.
Prior to working with Johanna I had terrible PMDD and painful periods both of which now have become either unnoticeable or more manageable. I have immense gratitude for the care Johanna gave me. Not only is she clearly passionate and knowledgeable about her work, but she is realistic and non-judgemental in her approach. Her utilization of HTMA, blood tests, and questionnaires to assess symptoms was the first time I felt like a practitioner truly cared to get to know me - literally inside and out. Johanna set me up for success with small, incremental changes in diet and hydration which yielded amazing results. I no longer struggle with intense PMS symptoms, I’m way less anxious, and have reduced my use of pain meds during my period. As I continue to practice the plan she worked on with me, I expect my symptoms to get even better.
I am thankfully on my journey to overall healing with her [Johanna's] knowledge and care. I would recommend anyone to use her whether it’s infertility, PCOS, hormonal health, or just overall health. If she doesn't know the answer, she will do everything she can for you to figure it out while giving a completely different approach than most people see these days. She genuinely does care for your overall health and wellbeing, and after one consultation, you will see the value in her... My biggest recommendation I have for others is to USE HER! She’s such a wealth of knowledge, and her approach and care makes her feel like a friend, which makes the process way more enjoyable.
I'm absolutely amazed at what her [Johanna's] insight and skill have made in my life, health and overall well-being. The practices she's had me implement have been relatively easy and have made a world of difference...and not one of them was ever suggested by any other practitioner! I no longer need a nap, caffeine or sugar at 3:00pm everyday to feel alive. I've recently noticed I don't crave sugar anymore which I've struggled with for years. Hormones are balancing, energy to work out is coming back. Feeling like myself again after a very long time. I recommend everyone I know to Johanna that is struggling with their health. She's been such a blessing in my life and she will be in yours too if you allow her the opportunity to help you.
After working with Johanna I felt prepared to go into my next pregnancy knowing how to nourish my body, and prepared better for postpartum. I literally could not believe how little protein I was eating compared to how much Johanna recommended, and how that immediately helped. Previously, my cycle was very short and I had horrible fatigue, but almost immediately after implementing her advice my energy and cycle improved. I appreciated that she customized the care I needed based on my background knowledge. She gave me concrete advice that was easy to follow, every time we communicated I felt like I understood the plan and was able to implement change right away.
Prior to working with Johanna I had completely lost a period and was so frustrated. I now have so many answers to questions and have the tools to get a regular cycle. A big ah ha moment for me was increasing the amount that I eat and changing my style of exercise. Also adding more salt to my diet when the world tells you to have less! Working with Johanna was worth it and changed my perspective in so many ways! I hesitated spending the money on this thinking I was already healthy and ate well but I learned my body needs more than I thought. I learned a ton about what my body needs and the specific areas to focus on. Her support and knowledge is the missing link in medicine today. I feel so much better and I am very grateful!
Prior to working with Johanna I had serious PCOS symptoms, bad periods, cysts and 3-month periods. Now I’m currently pregnant and balancing pregnancy symptoms well! I can’t recommend Johanna enough! She is super friendly, non-judgmental and helps you make sustainable choices catered to you & your lifestyle. She has so much knowledge, but makes everything easy to understand and implement. I love her holistic approach to symptoms and non-restrictive mindset!
I cannot say enough good things about Johanna! Her knowledge of nutrition and the specific interactions in the human body is incredible. Not only that, she explains it all and gives steps to implement changes in such easy to understand ways! I recommend her to everyone. Truly everyone could benefit from working with her, and gaining sustainable tools for whole body wellness
I can’t recommend Johanna enough. She is patient, kind, fun, caring, determined, and just overall such a gem to work with. Johanna helped me make small changes that didn’t feel overwhelming and within 4 weeks my hormones were already improving and my digestive issues were going away. Johanna takes so much time with each session and checks in regularly. Even after my program has ended we’ve stayed in touch and she has been so supportive.
Meet your holistic Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Katrina.
I started out my career in finance but discovered a passion for nutrition when trying to address my own health issues. After having mono resurface, my body was struggling – I was dealing with intense fatigue, anxiety, hormonal imbalance, heartburn, food sensitivities – you name it!
Navigating healing was tricky as I went from doctor to doctor but couldn’t find anyone who listened well and viewed my body as a whole.
Once I found nutritional therapy, I realized that I could heal naturally from hormonal imbalance. I could understand how different foods affected my body. I could nourish myself well & reduce my symptoms without restricting.
Through intentional nourishment I was able to bring balance back to my blood sugar, minerals, digestion, and moods to heal from my fatigue & other symptoms.
I went from outsourcing my wellbeing & constantly doubting myself to confidently taking ownership of my health. And now I am able to help other women do the same!
My goal in guiding women is to equip them to feel confident, nourished, and capable of handling anything life throws at them. If this is something you are looking for, I would love to help!
I live in Kansas City with my husband and sister. I love reading, trying new recipes, being outside, going on walks, and playing board games! I graduated from the University of Arkansas (woo pig!) and have recently transitioned to being a cat person.
Before meeting Katrina, I was experiencing a lot of fatigue, bloating, and overall low energy. Now I've felt my body recovering and reaching a solid baseline again. My bloat went down and I experienced less dips in energy throughout the day. Katrina taught me how to properly nourish my body - now I experience consistent energy levels and have been able to start walking again (before I barely had any excess energy). I feel confident about the meals I make and know how to cook for nourishment. I overall just feel more aware and in control of my health. I had a wonderful experience working with Katrina. If you're thinking about scheduling with her, do it!
Before working one on one with Katrina, I was having stomach aches, fatigue, headaches, low appetite, and intense menstrual cycle symptoms. After working with Katrina I feel my energy levels are much more consistent and my headaches and stomach aches are less frequent. Overall I feel much more balanced and energized in my daily life! Before I started meeting with Katrina I was in a pretty stressful season and having a lot of anxiety. Making some adjustments has made a world of difference for my energy levels and anxiety.
Prior to working with Katrina I had heartburn, GI upset related to certain foods, tiredness, moderate mood fluctuations, mental health conditions, and severe menstrual symptoms. The transformation through nutrition and proper habits has been life changing for me. I no longer have GI symptoms, my mood has improved drastically, I have more energy, and for the first time since high school I am no longer needing to take birth control for the severe pain and heavy flow. I was able to discontinue the use of pharmaceuticals that often caused me side effects such as antacids, mood medications, and birth control.
Meet your holistic Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Madi.
I’ve always been a lover of biology, specifically the human body and its extraordinary capabilities. Each person is so unique, yet a quality that we all have in common is our body’s ability to heal when given the right tools.
As a teenager, I struggled with a range of health issues- gut discomfort, feeling nauseous after meals, inflamed acne, mood swings, painful periods- yet when I went to my doctor, I was told to just take antibiotics. My symptoms did not improve, and my self-confidence plummeted. I felt so alone and hopeless in my situation, not even realizing that my body was actually trying to communicate with me.
Oftentimes when dealing with health issues, the healing process can seem daunting. When I was trying to find answers for my health issues, I felt overwhelmed and wished there was someone out there that could not just treat my symptoms, but educate me on why my body was even reacting in the first place.
When I discovered nutritional therapy, I learned about the power of good quality whole-foods, minerals, and limiting stress. By balancing my blood sugar and supporting my digestion, my body was finally in a place to begin to heal, and my symptoms started to clear up.
Helping people discover that healing could even be possible with nutrition is why I love what I do. Your body can heal, and I’d love to guide you!
I live in Boise with my husband. When I’m not researching and continuing to learn about the human body, I enjoy cooking yummy foods, going on runs outside, cheering way too loud for my favorite football team, and rating films.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Madi as my Nutritional Therapy Practitioner! I enjoyed the education behind what we put in our bodies and how it can affect us. After working with Madi I experienced less bloating, little to no acid reflux, and I walked away feeling informed and knowledgeable on how to properly listen to and fuel my body
Meet our digital marketer, Taylor.
I found Wild Muse after struggling for YEARS with multiple health issues, including fertility struggles. After having no luck making any progress with doctors, I decided to try Nutritional Therapy and I am incredibly grateful that I did. After my first consultation with Johanna, I had a gut feeling that this was my next step. We made SO much progress within the three month 1:1 program, and shortly after the program ended I got pregnant! I have had a happy and healthy pregnancy and am really grateful to have the ladies of WM as a resource. My undergrad and master’s degrees are in Education and I’ve been substitute teaching for the last 3 years. I was contemplating venturing outside of education and trying something new when Johanna reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in working on social media for Wild Muse. I immediately said YES. I believe, whole heartedly, in the work that Johanna and Katrina do with their clients. It’s an honor to be able to reach women across the country (and world!) who have experienced similar health struggles and show them that there IS a better way. I live in Spokane with my husband, sister and mom! We have two adorable pups who you might see on the WM Instagram from time to time. I love to read, go on walks with my family and watch Bravo.
